30 Days, day 12

30days12

This was down in City Park, which is right on the river, at a bend. This photo is in the Elizabethan-era open air theatre (round), where the annual Shakespeare festival takes place (in June I believe.. I can't wait!). As you can see from the seats, during the flood this area was covered. The entire audience area was covered, all of the seats are like this, covered in silt. The stage was also underwater, by the look of the high water mark, it was about 5 feet under! There are multiple playground down in City Park, but all of them were closed due to having their woodchips or sand washed away. It's amazing to see all the remainders of the damage from the floods. I can't imagine how the people who were here felt... to watch such devastation.
