Somehow I didn't upload a photo for today... hmmm, I'll have to go back and see what happened... I had two for yesterday, that must have been the mistake.

We had a wonderful long day of hanging out with friends, crafting and being social. I find that I am needing social contact now that we are so far from family. Back in Seattle, hanging out with my family seemed to be the bulk of our social life, especially once we moved out to the suburbs (of course this was different in our days living in the city, and before having children). I think part of it is the shift in lifestyle: when we had kids most of our friends were not yet having kids (except for one friend, who already had a daughter, I think she was about 8 when we had Leila). Social life changes when you have a child, and especially if you are the sort of parents we are, that rarely use a baby sitter, or leave the child with a bottle and their dad... add that to being shy and a tendency to be a homebody, that pretty much nipped my social life in the bud. So really, it's good for me to spend time with my small group of friends here (small is good, I am the sort that likes to have good relationships with a few people instead of a lot of friends I know only a little). It's perfect that these friends are also parents, and that our children are old enough to actually play together and let us be social!

We watched The Incredibles tonight as our dinner and movie... it was actually really cute, I enjoyed it!
