Some good news!

First, I got notice from the office here that the people who were going to move into our unit have canceled their reservation, so we don't have to move rooms! YAY!!!!

Second, our inspection (on the house) went very well! Only a few minors issues, the biggest thing being the slab in the garage (detached from the house) will need to be replaced eventually, not a huge priority for us. And the exterior needs painting in the next year or two, sooner certainly rather than later. And some minor stuff, like the chimney needs to be swept, the whole house fan needs to be replaced, and some outlets need replacing. The basement needs to be regraded around the foundation, and we're probably going to do a sealing treatment on the inside to keep moisture out. The pest inspector didn't find any termites or anything, so that was good. There are Indian Meal Moths, and lots of spiders. As opposed to it as I usually am, I'm considering doing a bug bomb before we move in, just to clear the slate.

We're also thinking of pulling up the carpets and refinishing the hardwoods BEFORE we move in... mostly so we don't have to move a piano twice. :p
