Sad news

A friend lost her baby earlier this week. :( On Monday she went to L&D because she hadn't felt movement all day. When she got there they discovered the baby's heart was still. The baby was delivered by c-section that night, they named her Caroline. She was about 30 weeks gestation.

My heart weeps for this family. I just cannot fathom the pain and anguish the mother and father are going through. They have a daughter Leila's age, almost 3. I don't know how much they are telling her, but I am sure she senses something is terribly wrong. I can't imagine having to tell my child that their sister is gone, especially one that she never got to meet.

I feel so helpless, across the country from this friend. I know no words of comfort, I wish I could be there for her, to take her 2 year old for a walk, bring her dinner, just hold her hand. My heart is broken for her.
