Snapshot with words

Just taking a moment to record what the kids are doing these days.

Miss Leila is now 27 months. Besides our behavioral issues, she's so sweet. Hyper-emotive, I would say. She is a little snuggle bug; she loves to lay on my lap or beside me and snuggle in, nurse or rub my mole (not my favorite thing, but it's a lovey to her...). Leila has cute little phrases that she uses frequently like "I'm sorry, but..." and "I thank you". Very cute. I got a nice video this weekend of her chattering away, I'll post it and link it here. Leila loves to go outside; so much so, that she gets the idea in her head and takes herself outside! We're working on that currently.

Elyas is my sweet little guy. He's saying a baby version on "hi" when you say "hi" to him; he loves to be talked to and his smile is so enchanting! He discovered his toes a few weeks ago, and the other night realized they are quite tasty too. He is a finger sucker, in part teething, but also as a soothing mechanism. It's adorable when he sticks his finger in to suck on it while he's nursing. Though, anything that comes close enough is good for sucking in his opinion these days. He's rather partial to fabric, and pulls up his own shirt for a slurp, or the clothing of whomever is holding him. The other day we were in the car and I could hear him back there slurping away, only to discover he'd gotten a hold of the mei tai and was going to town on one of the straps. Elyas has started playing peekaboo: smiling at a person, then hiding his face in my shoulder, then turning and smiling again. He also likes it if you hop him around to follow his sister or "sneak up" on someone - he even alternates his feet with each hop! Oh, he's also been scratching the top of his head, which is just adorable!
