When we went out to dinner after Ali's defense, with the children (who were in Seattle because my most AWESOMEST mom ever came with and watched the two of them while I attended his defense), it was quite loud and Leila kept saying something to Ali. After straining our ears, we determined she was saying "congratulations, Baba". AWWWWW!
The other day Elyas wanted to wear his "slip shoes" (slippers). He's got an awesome vocabulary, he's quite the little parrot (and more, as he remembers and uses the words appropriately later). Leila's a parrot too. The other day she was having a hard time with a bucket that kept tipping over when she poured sand in it. I heard her say "dammit bucket!". Um, opps. My bad!
Seriously though, Leila was always early at language, and I prepared myself for Elyas to be on the later side. I mean, he's the second child (less need to talk, older sibling to talk for him) and a boy. And yet, he's really surprised me with all his words, he has well over 100 words that he uses spontaneously and correctly.
Anyway, the other night Leila said the cutest thing at dinner. Too bad I can't remember what it was! :(
But he calls himself "Oz". It's so cute. And it's beginning to stick.

Aww, those are so cute! I can't wait for Hunter to start talking more. On the exciting communication news front, he started making the sign for "more" a couple of days ago! LOL, I know light years behind Oz ;) I heard that early walkers (of which Hunter is/was) tend to be later talkers but Elyas blows that maxim out of the water. Dude, you're messing up the curve! Hehe or perhaps just proving it.
