Soooo busy

This last week has been quite busy. We closed on our house on the first, the next day we painted the ceiling in the living room and dining room. Friday we ripped out the carpets throughout downstairs and pulled all the (copious amounts) of staples and the tack strips. Then over the weekend we removed the layer of glue in the living and dining room and sanded all the floors to get them ready for refinishing. Alas, we didn't get to refinish them before the movers came on Monday! But all our stuff is here now and we just need to sand around the edges (where the floor sander couldn't go) to finish up the floors. I spent Tuesday afternoon shelf-papering the cabinets in the kitchen (it looked like it hadn't been done since about 1960), and I'm slowly pecking away at all the boxes! And sanding around the edges a bit in between boxes... oy. It seems the dryer makes a musty smell, so today's task will be pulling it out from the wall and cleaning the vent hose. And putting away more boxes, getting to the grocery store, and the hardware store for more glue remover.

Oh, and to add a little more to the chaos, I'm taking an exam to work for Google this week, and my parents come next Tuesday! Ahhh!

I love the house!! It's so stinking cute! Those floors are going to look awsome when they are done. Have fun with your parents. I think they'll love it here!

What a great time for your mom to come and help unpack! Or at least play constantly with her grandkids while you are slaving away. ;)

What will you be doing for Google?
