A new year...

...a new batch of resolutions. I really hate making them and then breaking them! Some are just harder for me to keep up than others. Two years ago I did the 1 book per week resolution, and that worked really well for me. I did it and then some. The previous year I attempted to do a 365 photo blog... err, failed by March. I can't remember if I made any last year. So, this year I am trying to do some "goals" instead. Maybe this well be a little less intimidating. Or not...

  • First goal - keep up this blog better. It is my record, I look back on things here when I can't remember when something happened, like Elyas' first tooth, or something like that. I know that no matter how much I think I'll remember it, I forget it so quickly, and some things you just want to have a record of. And I like looking back at the pictures too.
  • Complete one crafting project a week. I love crafting, but I have a tendancy to start projects and not complete them. No shock there.
  • Three books a month. I think that's doable. I'm doing a lot of audiobooks because I can listen to them while crafting. :D
  • Get more organized. Stay on top of homeschooling, housekeeping, and budgeting. An important goal, but also a learning process, I know I will be far from perfect at this one.
  • Lastly, but importantly, rekindle my relationship with my husband. Life with small children and a new job/busy time career wise has pushed us apart. We will be celebrating 10 years together this summer and need a little oomph heading into the next decade.

Jude on the 1st. I completed a hat I'd been working on since Christmas. This is the body of the hat. I made a cabled band, but didn't like it on the body of the hat, so I added ribbing to the hat and finished it off. It is a smidge too small, though, but fits Leila and Elyas perfectly. They both want it, I said they had to share.

Jan 2 - Jude is 6 months now. I just love this age - exploring so much and interacting with the world. He is absolutely the sweetest baby ever. I'm so glad we added him to our family. He gives wonderful sloppy kisses, and hugs. He is very noisy, sings a lot and blows tons of raspberries.

Taken today. He fell asleep on Mom's lap. Couldn't resist the picture. So sweet to have Gramma snuggles, we will miss her when she goes to Hawaii.

Some other stuff:
Elyas has really taken to mom this visit, but he is still my boy through and through. As evidenced by these quotes:
me: Elyas, I thought you said you would be done nursing after Christmas. Elyas: Is it after Christmas? Me: Yes, Christmas is over. Elyas: Actually, I'm still little. And I changed my mind.

Elyas to Grandma: "I am a big boy, big enough to do lots of things." Mom: "yes, you are! You're almost 4!" E: "But not too big to nurse. I'm still little enough for that."
