Three days ago we started yet another attempt at night weaning. This round rode in on the coattails of yet another difficult week in which Little Sir was demanding a lot of night time attention. Followers of this blog will know that we've made several unsuccessful attempts and night weaning, and each push from me sets us back. This time, though we seem bound for success! I told Elyas that the "minutes" need to rest, they haven't been getting enough sleep and so haven't been making much milk (which is true, though most likely from dehydration from working outside in the heat). I told him that when the Sun is down the minutes need to sleep and they will wake up in the morning when the Sun comes up. It seems to be working! The second night he slept from 930 to 6 am! That is the longest time ever! The prospect of getting sleep just warms my heart like nothing else. It has been a long, LONG 4 years since I got to really sleep through the night!
I've totally dropped the ball on the 365 project. Maybe I can pick it up for the second half of the year... we'll see! It just takes time to upload the photos, and being a perpetual procrastinator I always wait for days and days to be piled on me, and then I think "it's too much!". So here are some stragglers from recent days.
the different colors of clematis:

The potatoes finally broke ground and are shooting right up!
Our peas are beginning to flower!
My budding nature photographer! I need to download her pics and share them with you all!
Things are really coming along in the garden beds!
I ordered 20 Mary Washington Asapargus crowns (2 year old, so next year we can harvest); they were BOGO (10 a pack), well I got 27! SWEET!
The new bed for the asparagus. Took HOURS to pull out the very very crowded gladiolus! PHEW!Ah, quiet evenings when everyone else is sleeping are so serene. Yes, I know there is a mess in the kitchen. It's probably even calling my name. But I ain't listening, I'm enjoying the quiet.
