1. Do you use baking soda toothpaste or baking soda shampoo? If not, would you consider it?
I was using baking soda shampoo for three years and while we were staying at the hotel I got out of the habit and haven't gotten back into it. I was actually just thinking about it yesterday when I was washing my hair with JASON brand shampoo. For toothpaste we use Spry because of Elyas' caries.
2. Do you make any home cleaning products?
Yes, we mostly use vinegar or baking soda. Though I do use commercial "green" dish detergent, laundry detergent, and automatic dishwasher detergent.
3. What is your top green issue at the moment?
I've been thinking a lot lately about what I want to grow in our subsistence garden next year, as it will be time to order seeds soon. I've also been thinking about rain barrels, grey water, and other ways to reduce water use on our garden. And like Stephany, I am struggling with buying organic butter and cheese, it's so costly here. At least in Seattle I was able to buy rBST-free cheese and butter. I am looking forward to spring when we get our chicks, so we will have good eggs at a much better price and for a very low carbon imprint.
4. Given unlimited cash, what is on your fantasy green wishlist?
Oh, I want a hobbit hole too! LOL There are a number of things I'd like to do to our house: solar panels, solar water heater, composting toilet.... If I had unlimited cash flow I'd get our house off the grid as much as we could! Oh, and I would immediately switch all my appliances to energy star!
5. Have you implemented any new green act/behaviour/product this month?
This month I've been renewing green habits that went to the wayside while we were between homes. Making things from scratch (yoghurt, cream cheese, bread, pasta), energy saving light bulbs, and the ever popular "if it's yellow, let it mellow, if it's brown, flush it down!"
I am going to tag Jenny at Slightly Crunchy, April at Love Times Five and Rebecca at Thystle.

The dairy issue really makes me cranky. I look at all these farms around here and the fact that I can't go buy milk is ridiculous.
Before my "Amish Connection" got busted I was buying free range milk by the gallon for $1.75. I would buy three gallons at a time and all this lovely cream would settle to the top that I could use. I was just investigating a hard cheese press when he got shut down.
organic meat and dairy is insanely expensive. it's so sad! so we instead just choose local and free range eggs, organic milk when we can afford it but most often it's just hormone free and that's all. better than nothing
We do organic milk, which isn't so bad here: $2.99 in the glass half gallon jugs. I've been doing cage-free veggie fed eggs until we get our chicks in the spring, then I'll be on "farm" fresh. :D But meat really gets me. I just can't afford the prices! $5.99 for organic chicken tit is just insane!
